There could be contrasting performance between the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 models of the Galaxy S7: Report

The #Samsung #GalaxyS7 and the #GalaxyS7edge have finally started reaching the customers in the U.S. Samsung is offering the handsets with a Snapdragon 820chipset in the U.S., while rest of the world markets are getting the model with an Exynos 8890 SoC on board, which is supposed to be a worthy successor to the Exynos 7420 that decimated the competition in 2015.

This could be cause for concern for several global users as the Snapdragon 820 is relatively rare outside the U.S. GPU benchmarks suggest that the Exynos 8890 is in third place after the Snapdragon 820 and the Apple A9. Sure, it’s well above the ill-fated Snapdragon 810 (4th place) from 2016, but fans were surely expecting the gap to be very minimal.

It is said that the difference in CPU performance between the two models should be negligible, so there are no issues on that front. Samsung is yet to comment on this, although we expect a very diplomatic response from the company on the matter.
