If the display is not working properly then it’s very likely that you will be unable to use your phone. We have selected several of the issues of this nature that have been sent to us recently and have addressed them below.

S6 Screen Not Turning On
Problem: Just today I was playing soccer on a wet basketball court when I slipped and fell into a large puddle, my Galaxy S6 was in my hand as I fell, and although it didn’t stay in the water for long, it did get splashed by it. I thought nothing of it and kept playing until it started ringing and I tried to answer, I quickly noticed that the phone was working, but the screen was not turning on, although the touch itself was. Would replacing the screen fix this? Thank you
Solution: It appears that the screen may have suffered some water damage. You should first try to place your phone in a bag or rice for at least 48 hours. This will absorb the moisture that is present inside your device. After 48 hours turn on your phone then check if the display works. If it doesn’t then you will need to have the display replaced.
S6 Screen Does Not Light Up
Problem: Was working fine and I was listening to music on it then I stopped and set it down for about 30 mins . When I picked the phone the blue message light was blinking and the screen will no longer light up so I can do nothing with the phone . I did fully charge it to make sure it was not low on battery but still won’t work .!!! Help
Solution: Try to simulate a battery pull in your device first. This is done by pressing and holding down the power key and volume down key simultaneously for at least seven seconds.
If the issue remains then start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition on your device.
S6 Screen Is Black And White
Problem: I was cross country skiing yesterday, took a video and put the phone back in my pocket. Later when I looked the screen was in black and white. I tried the obvious, checking battery save options which were off. I restarted the phone and the first 2 screens came up in color then went to black and white again. Now I can’t do anything though the home page comes up, it won’t react to touch at all. I can hear vibration alerts but aren’t able to select anything. Also can’t shut it down because can’t press any option on the screen. Can you please help?? Thank you!
Solution: It looks like the display of the phone may have been damaged. TRy to simulate a battery pull first and see if this resolves the problem. To do this just press and hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously for seven seconds. Your phone will restart after this. If the issue still remains then check if you can access the recovery mode. If you can then I highly suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this procedure.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S6 Screen Brightness Keeps Changing To Dim
Problem: My phone was used for a half marathon to listen to music and since then the screens brightness keeps changing to really dim. The only way I can correct it is if I turn the phone on and off. The back button and menu button also doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t light up and doesn’t work at all. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
Solution: Since aside from the screen dim issue you are also having a problem with the menu and back button not working I suggest you perform a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.
S6 Screen Is Dark After Getting Wet
Problem: Dropped in water. Only slightly wet and dried right away. Vacuumed ports. Turned off immediately. Would turn on but the screen is dark.
Solution: It appears that the display may have been affected by the water. If you phone is still getting notifications and everything seems to work except the display then try to check if a battery pull will solve the issue ( press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least seven seconds). If the problem remains then have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S6 Screen Not turning On After Drop
Problem: I drop my phone on the ground and the screen will not turn on it is all black but the screen lights up at the top and turns off.
Solution: Try connecting your phone to its wall charger then turn on your phone. This will eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a low battery charge. If the issue still persists then the drop may have damaged the phone display. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
