New Phones Available for Tracfone Including Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 and 2 More Phones with 4G LTE Service Now Available from Tracfone

This post contains the latest news on the release of three new phones from Tracfone. Check back soon for more information, and full reviews of each of these devices.

Tracfone Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and S5
New Samsung Devices with 4G LTE available from Tracfone!
Tracfone has released three new smartphone devices for use on their prepaid network. These three new Android phones are the first to use CDMA 4G LTE service, which will allow users to have faster connectivity speeds on their device.

Until now, users who wanted a 4G LTE capable device had to either use the GSM LG Sunset, or use their own device on the BYOP program. Now users have the option to choose one of these three news smartphones from Tracfone.

The three new phones are the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy E5, and Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. We are going to share a little about each phone, and also include where you can find these devices. We will also be working on our reviews for each of these phones in the near future, so stay tuned for that.

What is really exciting beyond the fact that these new phones use CDMA 4G LTE technology is that these smartphones are some of the most advanced devices, particularly the Samsung Galaxy S5. However, that appears to come at a price.

Tracfone Samsung Galaxy S5 Quick Look

Take a look at our http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2016/02/tracfone-samsung-galaxy-s5-review.html" target="_blank">full Review of the S5.

The Samsung Galaxy S5, when it was released in April 2014, was one of the best devices available that money could buy. It is in Samsung's flagship lineup and comes with a full list of great features.

Let's take a brief look at some of the Samsung Galaxy S5's features and specs:

  • 5.1" Touchscreen made with Gorilla Glass 3 and 1920x1080 resolution
  • 16 MP Rear Camera
  • 16 GB Internal Memory with 2 GB RAM and Micro SD card slot
  • 2.5 Ghz Quad-core processor
  • Android 4.4.2
  • And more

These are just some of the more notable features that show that this device is a very capable device even though it is almost 2 years old. There isn't a phone currently available from Tracfone that has the same list of impressive specs. But, as we said, it comes at a price, and that price is $499.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 can be found on HSN bundled with 1200 Minutes. We haven't found it anywhere else yet, but expect it to show up in stores, and on the Tracfone website sometime in the near future.

The question we are asking, however, is would it be cheaper to just buy an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 and bring it to Tracfone through the BYOP program? You can find a Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5 on Amazon for just $235 that can work with either GSM or CDMA. That's less than half the price, although you don't get the 1200 minutes. There are also new S5's for a little over $300 on Amazon and eBay.

What is nice about buying a phone that is released by Tracfone versus using the BYOP program is that you don't have to worry about comparability issues. You can just buy the phone and activate it. However, if you're looking for the cheapest option, it looks like buying your own unlocked Galaxy S5 and then using the BYOP program is the best bet. The nice thing about http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /p/tracfone-byop-phone-list.html" target="_blank">Tracfone BYOP is you can choose from many different devices, and find the phone that will fit your needs at the price you want to pay.

So, we are very excited about the Galaxy S5 coming to Tracfone, but the cost is way beyond the typical sub $200 range most phones from Tracfone are released at. If you've been looking for a high end smartphone from Tracfone, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not disappoint.

Look for our review soon!

Tracfone Samsung Galaxy E5 Quick Look

The Samsung Galaxy E5 is like the younger brother to the S5. It comes with somewhat reduced performance features, but still has 16 GB of internal memory, which is a huge plus. It is also $150 cheaper than the S5.

Let's take a look at some of the Samsung Galaxy E5's features

  • 5.0" touchscreen at 720x1280 resolution
  • 8 MP Rear Camera
  • 16 GB Internal Memory
  • 1.2 Ghz Quad-core processor
  • Android 4.4
  • And more

As you can see, the Galaxy E5 has a slightly smaller screen, a little less processing power, and a smaller resolution rear camera. It doesn't impress as much as the S5, but it is more budget friendly.

However, as with the Samsung Galaxy S5, we can't help but wonder if you could find a phone similar to the Samsung Galaxy E5 on Amazon or eBay and use it with the Tracfone BYOP program.

The Samsung Galaxy E5 is available on HSN for $350 with 1200 minutes.

We will be working on a review for the E5 very soon!

Tracfone Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Quick Look

The third device released by Tracfone is the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. This Android-powered smartphone is more in line with other smartphones currently available from Tracfone, and the price is actually a really great deal.

The Feature and Specs for the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime are below:

  • 4.5" Touchscreen with 480x800 resolution
  • 5 MP Rear Camera
  • 8 GB Internal Memory
  • Android 44
  • 1.2 Ghz Quad-core processor
  • And More

The Galaxy Core Prime actually matches up very similarly to the http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/07/lg-sunset-review-tracfone-gsm-4g-lte.html" target="_blank">LG Sunset which has been available with Tracfone for some months now. They both have 1.2 Ghz processores, both come with 8 GB memory, and both allow 4G LTE connectivity. The Galaxy Core Prime uses CDMA while the Sunset uses GSM.

The real news here is that the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is available on HSN for $99 with 1200 minutes. So you are basically buying a 1 Year/400 Minute Airtime card and getting a very good Android smartphone for free!

We will be sharing our full review for the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime in the near future!

We are expecting several more Samsung smartphones to be released from Tracfone in the near future, but the Samsung Galaxy S5 is probably the best phone we will see from Tracfone for a little while. Stay up to date with the latest news by following us on Facebook.

Let us know what you think about these new devices, and if you will be spending the money to upgrade.

How to alter the live RAM memory of the game while its being running

A video could be better than a series of screenshots explaining things. But I take consider of my fellow visitors with poor or low speed internet connection. Here we go :)

Note - This trick will help you get enormous amount of bullets or Ammo for your guns or Grenades, etc.
  • Open the game Mini Militia in your phone and start the gameplay.
  • Now minimize the game and open the app GameKiller and get back to the game. You will see a small key like icon on your screen. That is the shortcut to open the GameKiller app while you are still playing the game.
  • Let's start with any weapon that is in your hand. Now note the number of bullets or ammo that left in your current gun by looking at the screen as shown below.
  • Click on the Game killer Icon and enter the value that u got in the previous step.In my game it is "006" and press Search Button.
  • Now in the Select Data Type list, select "WORD(0-65535)".
  • Now it will show the list of memory location which contains the value "006".If it finds a lots of memory location with that value, then it will just show How much items it found in the previous search.
  • Now minimize the GameKiller app and get in game and shoot your weapon randomly, so that your Ammo will get reduced from the previous value. In my case, I have shot once and got "005" bullets left.Note the changed ammo value.
  • Get back to GameKiller and enter the value. For me its "005" and press Search. Now it will show a small list of memory location with value you have searched for.
  • We still have to find the exact memory location, so that we can alter the value of the memory location to change the number of bullets or ammo. Now minimize GameKiller and shoot once again in game, so that the value will reduce from the previous ammo left. Now for me the value changed to "004".Now get back to GameKiller and scroll the list and search for the list with value "The ammo left in game" which has changed from the previous ammo left. For me changed from "5" to "4".
  • Hurray we have found the exact location of the bullets or ammo stored in the memory. Now click on that memory location and change it to your desired value and press Ok.
  • Now there is a surprise left for you, when you come back to game. You will come to see that the number of bullets is the number that you have entered in the GameKiller.Woah!!!!!!!!

By following the same steps above, you can hack any weapon or grenades in Mini Militia or any games.Just get experienced to the above guide, you will be automated.

Thank me by keep visiting :).

AMAZINGLY, THE ABOVE STEPS WILL WORK ON MULTIPLAYER MODES TOO.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Buying Dual SIM Android Phones

Maybe you travel often and you would like to answer your android cell phone without worrying about paying crazy international charges on your original data plan.

Whatever the case, if you have found the need to have two lines but you don't want to keep track of two android cell phones (or you don't want to pay for another android cell phone), http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/07/what-to-know-when-buying-android-phones.html" target="_blank">buying a android cell phone that can carry two SIM cards might be something to consider. Here are the benefits and drawbacks to owning a dual-SIM cell.

Buying Dual SIM Android Phones
different network flexibility

Advantage of Android Cell Phone

ADVANTAGE: You can widen your network. If you've got two SIM cards following two different networks, you're http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/07/android-phones-things-to-look.html" target="_blank">looking at almost no coverage gaps. If you live in an area that has poor coverage no matter the network, or you enjoy traveling to remote locations, this is great for those who hate dropped calls and who doesn't? This is also good just regarding emergencies when you need to make a call right away.

DISADVANTAGE:  Battery power could be reduced. More recent android cell phone have reduced much of these problems, but designs could be suffering from as much as a third, especially if they're older.

Also, there are different types of dual-SIM capabilities to keep in mind - the more effective your second SIM bank cards is, http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/11/how-to-save-android-battery-life.html" target="_blank">the more battery you will eat. A standard dual-SIM will eat the least battery, and each SIM will be completely non-active until you choose to personally change your SIM bank cards. Double stand by will keep one SIM effective when in use and the other will be ready to go. And dual effective will keep both bank cards working at the same time, so it will obviously eat the most power, especially if one bank cards can link to a network but the other bank cards is trapped searching.

Advantage of Dual Sim Android Cell Phone

ADVANTAGE: Flexibility of two plans, logistics of one. It's hard enough keeping track of both your android cell phone and your keys - who wants to add a second android cell phone to the equation? A android cell phone with dual active SIMs even gives you the flexibility of receiving a call from someone on one network and simply putting them on hold if you need to simultaneously call someone from using the second card. Plus, if you currently use your personal android cell phone for http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/10/mobile-phone-recycling-business.html" target="_blank">business and have to demonstrate your usage on your bill, that's no longer an issue. Your second SIM means you get two entirely separate bills.

DISADVANTAGE: You might have to transfer it. Dual-SIM android cell phones are mostly designed international in nations like Chinese suppliers, because that's where they became popular. There are some available through Samsung and Lenovo, but many of those can absence the same assistance as their international alternatives. And if you don't http://pinkberrylicious.blogspot.com /2015/12/used-android-cell-phone-price.html" target="_blank">thoughts purchasing international, keep in actually still might have extra expenses from delivery and/or transfer taxation.

ADVANTAGE: Less stress when using your android cell phones worldwide. No more concerning about how many moments you have on your worldwide information strategy. If you have a additional port start, just go to a shop in whatever new nation you're in and get any regional pre-paid SIM cards. Without a rate per month or agreement, you can use whatever amount of information, call time and text messaging you've bought, and you should be able to quit by any android cell phones shop to add more once you've used up your regional strategy. Just make sure you try to buy a SIM cards from a big service provider in that nation so you've got good protection.

How to Remove a Stuck S Pen from your Samsung Galaxy Note 5

While many have been impressed with the release of Samsung's well-crafted Galaxy Note 5 device, some were disappointed after spotting a flaw with the design, particularly when accidentally inserting the S Pen backwards into the Note 5 S Pen slot. In this post, we'll teach you how to remove the S Pen that is stuck in your Galaxy Note 5. Read on to learn how.

The S Pen gets stuck in its holding area because its cap is hindered by a small piece of the detection sensor that's hanging out over the holding area. Unfortunately, those who forced to yank the S Pen out have ended up damaging not only the S Pen but also the vital component used to enable certain phone features -- the detection sensor.

Without the detection sensor, phase detection auto-focus for the phone's camera as well as input recognition would somehow be devoid.

That being said, preventive measures must be set. Therefore, never put the S Pen into its slot with end first. You could file off the protruding edges or attach something like a small rubber band, or a piece of tape to the end, thus preventing S Pen from fitting in backwards easily.

But what if the S Pen is already stuck?

If preventive measures are no longer applicable like for example, you just happened to insert the S Pen  backwards unintentionally, never use force to pull it back out. Instead, follow the recommended procedure below.

Fortunately, some people are always eager to find ways to fix any emerging problems especially on hefty devices like the Galaxy Note 5. While this method is deemed the ultimate solution to your stuck S Pen in your Note 5, performing it requires more guts and prudence. Why? Because you've got to dismantle your device. In line with this, anyone who is willing may try this method except for those with the Galaxy Note 5 under warranty.

Here's how:

  • Cut a piece of paper of an extremely thin card with the same length as the S Pen (approximately 4 inches).
  • Fold the paper symmetrically (lengthwise) and slide it in the side where the stylus (S Pen) is stuck. It should go towards the body of the phone, so on the left of the S Pen, from the bottom view with the screen up.The paper should trigger the clamping mechanism to open, allowing you to slide the S Pen without causing any damage to the sensor.
  • Slowly and carefully pull the S Pen along with the paper downwards until it's completely out.

For a more detailed demonstration, here's a YouTube video on how to fix a stuck S Pen on the Galaxy Note 5, courtesy of How2Tech.

If you hesitate to do the aforementioned procedures by yourself, then you can just contact Samsung or your phone carrier and have it fixed or replaced. If you're fortunate enough, you can return your device for repair under warranty.

BACKUP USING CYGWIN

This guide is intended to make a full backup of your android phone (the entire memory block with all partitions) or a single partition (including sdcards, etc) directly to your computer, in either
  • Block level (with dd): for single partitions or whole memory block (all partitions in one piece). The backup always has the same size which is the size of the partition.
  • File level (with tar): only for individual partitions. This only includes files and folders, so occupies much less space, depending on how much filled is the partition.
It can be done with the phone powered on or from ClockWorkMod Recovery (from both ADB works, while in Fastboot doesn't so won't apply). Unless specified the commands meant to be used from Windows. For Linux and Unix is similar.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Rooted Android Phone
  • Busybox installed on your phone
  • If you are using Linux / OS X you have native tools, for Windows download Cygwin, and install with it netcat, pv and util-linux. Get them from Cygwin's setup.exe
  • ADB installed.
  • Make sure adb.exe is in your windows' path. See here and here, or use Path Manager.
  • Android phone with USB Debugging enabled, and the proper drivers installed on Windows so the phone is recognized. Typing 'adb devices' on a terminal should show your device.

PARTITION IDENTIFICATION
You now have to identify the partition or block device that you want to backup. For a single partition you can use either tar or dd, while for the entire memory block you can only use dd.
For example, on Galaxy Nexus you have the list of partitions here and for Galaxy S2 here.
Usually on android, the entire block containing all partitions is located at /dev/block/mmcblk0 and the data partitions is a subpartition of it. You can push parted with GPT support to your device and see all information on a partition or block.

Whole phone memory -> /dev/block/mmcblk0 (may vary, in some phones this is the sdcard)
Subpartitions -> depends on each device. Usually at /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/ there are listed by name linking to the real device.

Back up of the whole memory block (via adb)
Connect the phone in ADB mode and unlock the screen.
Open one Cygwin Terminal and enter (replace mmcblk0 if needed):
Code:
adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555
adb shell
su
/system/xbin/busybox nc -l -p 5555 -e /system/xbin/busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0
You will see the cursor blinking at the left. Now the phone is waiting to send the block over the network.

Open another Cygwin terminal and type:
Code:
adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555
cd /path/to/store/the/backup
nc 127.0.0.1 5555 | pv -i 0.5 > mmcblk0.raw
You will see how the image size is growing until it finishes. Now you have the whole phone backed up in raw format. You can see the contents of the GPT partition with gptfdisk tool, available for windows, linux and such. See official website and sourceforge to get it. You can do it the same from ClockWorkMod Recovery but you have to mount first the /system partition since the busybox included with clockworkmod does not come with netcat and you have to use the one from the system partition.
With further linux tools you could edit or extract single partitions from the whole block.

You can use adb via wifi as well with applications like WiFi ADB.

Back up of the whole memory block (via wifi)

Original post: [Q] Nandroid directly to computer w/o sdcard

We need to install a FTP server on the computer or the other device, configure a user with a password if we want to, and set some port. It uses by default 21 but this example uses 40. We must set a home dir for the user with write permissions.

Usually is a good idea to put myfifo in /cache not in /data because we may overwrite sensitive data in case we want to use that raw image for data recovery.

Open one Cygwin terminal
Code:
adb shell
su
mkfifo /cache/myfifo
ftpput -v -u user -p pass -P 40 COMPUTER_IP block.raw /cache/myfifo
Open another Cygwin terminal
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of=/cache/myfifo
Tips:
- Fifos only can be made on linux native filesystems, for example on a FAT partition is not possible.
- Reading from a partition does not modify it.

Now check on Filezilla Server the speed

Back up of the whole memory block (USB tethering, Wifi tethering)
To use tethering you have to disconnect the computer from all networks and connect it only to the phone with the type of connection you want.
Once you connect it, you can view the IP of the computer and the IP of the phone from connection properties. The ip is the computer ip and the gateway is the phone's ip.
  • Wifi Tethering: Computer <---Wifi---> Phone <---3G---> Internet
  • USB Tethering:
    • Computer <---USB---> Phone <---Wifi---> Internet
    • Conputer <---USB---> Phone <---3G---> Internet
This is exactly the same as via wifi, except that the transfer speed is much higher because the computer and the phone are directly connected, instead of using a router as a gateway. In this case, the gateway is the phone. USB tethering has the highest transfer rate.

Back up of a single partition (raw = every bit of the partition)
It is exactly the same as the the previous but replacing mmcblk0 by the corresponding partition. You can use in this particular case several software to read the partition from windows, depending on partition filesystem: DiskInternals Linux ReaderExt2ReadExt2 File System Driver for WindowsExt4Exploreplugin for Total Commander and ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver. You can also use recovery software on individual partitions like Recuva in combination with VHD Tool or command line tools included with operating systems.

Back up of a single partition (tar = only files and folders)
In this case, you need the partition mounted. To see the list of mounted partitions type on Cygwin Terminal
Code:
adb shell mount
Now you need to know where is mounted the partition you want to backup, for example the firmware is mounted on /system, which is the ROM.
In this case you will have to open three terminals, because of android limitations:

Open one Cygwin terminal and create a fifo, in /cache, for example, and redirect the tar there
Code:
adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555
adb shell
su
/system/xbin/busybox mkfifo /cache/myfifo
/system/xbin/busybox tar -cvf /cache/myfifo /system
We have to do it this way because redirecting the tar to stdout (with - ) is broken on android and will corrupt the tar file.

Open a second Cygwin terminal and type:
Code:
adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555
adb shell
su
/system/xbin/busybox nc -l -p 5555 -e /system/xbin/busybox cat /cache/myfifo
Open a third Cygwin terminal and type:
Code:
adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555
cd /path/to/store/the/backup
nc 127.0.0.1 5555 | pv -i 0.5 > system.tar
You can browse the tar file with Winrar, Total Commander, PeaZip and almost any compression tool. Note that you shouldn't extract files or edit it since the tar format saves the permission and owner data for each file, that is lost when extracted to FAT / NTFS partitions and you will mess things when restoring.

How to Fix Screen Flickering problem on your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge/S6 Edge Plus

Possible causes of screen problems such as screen flickering in mobile devices including Samsung's newest Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus, would include mis-configured display settings, corrupted apps, and worst, hardware damage.

For brand new Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus devices with screen flickering issues since the first day of use, asking for a brand new/replacement unit is highly recommended, given your device is still under warranty. Contact your phone carrier immediately, if the screen problem persists after performing soft resets or phone restarts. It could be an indication of a faulty hardware that needs to be fixed.

Otherwise, you may proceed with the following workarounds:

1. Soft reset your phone.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the phone powers off completely, and then turn it back on after 30 seconds. See what happens after doing that.

2. Power up/Restart in Safe Mode.
Try to boot into safe mode. Booting into safe mode can help you determine if the problem is caused by a third-party application or not. If the problem is gone while in safe mode, then you need to locate the faulty app and have it uninstalled or temporarily disabled. There are some users who experienced the same problem and fix it by simply uninstalling an exclusive automatic update on certain apps.

  • With the phone turned on, press and hold the Power button until the phone options prompt displays.
  • Touch and hold Power off until the Reboot to Safe Mode option displays.
  • Tap Restart.
  • Upon restart, Safe Mode should appear in the lower-left of the home screen. If the problem fails occur, the cause has been isolated to a third-party app and so all recently installed or updates apps may need to be temporarily disabled to identify the culprit.
  • To exit Safe Mode, just reboot your phone.

3. Make some adjustments to your phone's display settings.
If your screen is flashing, try to deselect Adaptive Brightness from the phone settings and see what happens.

  • Go to Settings >> Display >> Brightness.
  • Deselect the option "Automatic/Adaptive brightness".

Hint: Browsing through webpages with the screen brightness set to a lower  or lowest level can sometimes cause the screen to flicker.
Another trick that has done wonders to some is by going to Settings-> Developer Options-> and remove then check from the box next to Show screen updates. It's a temporary solution that works.
4. Check battery status and calibrate the battery.
5. Contact and escalate the issue to your phone carrier for further assistance and recommendations.

The aforementioned procedures are applicable for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Plus models.

Using A Cell Phone Tracker Doesn't Mean That You Don't Trust Your Children

Every parent likes to think that their child is a perfect angel that never does anything wrong. But what most parents forget is that they were not perfect angels when they were children. In those times, parent never really found out what their children were doing unless something happened. In these times, parents have access to tools like cell phone tracker software that can show them exactly what their children are doing when they are away from your watchful eyes.

But if a parentuses this software, does that mean that they don't trust their children?

The answer to that question isn't easy to come by and there are reasons for that.

Each generation grows up in a time of different technological advances and different social norms. Cavemen needed to worry about their children being eaten by dinosaurs. We don't have to worry about that. People in ancient Egypt had to worry about their children getting lost in the desert. We don't have to worry about that either. But those worries seem trivial compared to what parents of today have to worry about.

Our children are exposed to things that no other generation ever had to face. Our children don't go to neighborhood schools like their parents did. That means they have to travel more and that means a greater chance that they could be harmed coming and going to school. More children live in households where both parents work. That means they might come home from school to an empty house. An empty house means that there might not be any adult supervision. And that could lead to a whole lot of things happening.

We want our children to have a sense of freedom and responsibility but we don't want those powers abused either. And even if we trust out children, we need to be sure that they aren't abusing that trust. We can use a cell phone tracker app to ensure that our faith and trust placed in our children is not actually misplaced.

Cell phone tracker software can let us know what our children are doing. Is your teenage son actually coming home straight from school? Or is he actually going over to a friend's house to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol? By monitoring his text messages and the GPS function in his phone, you will now what he is doing. Is your teenage daughter coming home from school and studying each day? Or is she bringing her boyfriend home and having sex with him in your bedroom?  What she says in her text messages and on social media will answer those questions more truthfully than she might.

Are you looking to spy on cell phone text messages for free online? You’re not alone. A cell phone spy software like Auto Forward can help you read text messages, see social media activity and more. But unlike the free apps, Auto Forward offers you more powerful features and live customer service.

I'm not trying to scare you into thinking that your son is a drug addict or that you daughter is sexually active. You may have done a great job of raising your kids and you might have nothing to worry about. But just in case you need a little reassurance, there is softwareavailable that can help ease your concerns.

How to tell if your MicroSD Card is Genuine or a counterfeit

Beware of fake microSD cards! Here's how to tell a counterfeit from the original

Isn’t it an amazing invention if you think about it? The humble microSD card may be not be bigger than the nail of your thumb, but is capable of storing immense amounts of data – anything from the Files from office works, assignments and music to even full episodes of series movies. And all this information is accessible instantly on a phone, tablet or PC. Anytime. Anywhere. It is just mind-blowing!

Fake microSD cards, on the other hand, aren't exciting. In fact, they suck quite a bit. They're a bad investment, they're risky to use, and worst of all, they may cause you to lose data forever. Alas, the unassuming buyer may not be aware of that, as the counterfeits can be nearly indistinguishable from the real deal. They come in convincing packaging and are even labelled under familiar brand names – Samsung, Kingston, SanDisk, Toshiba to name a few. But worry not, as we're here to show you how to spot a fake microSD card.

Technically, what's the difference between fake and real microSD cards?

Мany of today's counterfeit microSD cards have much less actual storage than advertised. For example, a card may have as little as 512MB of actual storage space, but the label on it may read 64GB. The worse part is that your device may also “see” it as a 64GB card – firmware hacks are a common practice and allow this to happen. In fact, your device can and will try to write data to the gigs that don't exist. This will either overwrite existing data or result in an error. In either case, your data may get corrupted irreversibly.

If your device is having these symptoms, you might want to check if the microSD card in it is genuine. We'll show you how to do that in a bit.

What do fake microSD cards look like?
There's this thing about Chinese culture – copying isn't and has never been considered a bad thing. That explains why some of the best product imitations come from China. It is common for a fake microSD card and some smartphones, as well as its packaging, to look almost like the real deal. But they're never an exact reproduction.
If the print on the package seems off and if the logos don't look quite right, you're probably looking at a fake.

If the text on the microSD card itself is misaligned or poorly printed, then it is most likely a fake.
If the price of the product is too good to be true, then – you guessed it – you most likely have a fake on your hands.

As always, common sense is your friend tho its not common (No insult *smile*). Buying your smartphone accessories from a well-known retail chain is a wise thing to do. Shopping from a reputable electronics store is also a safe bet.
SanDisk's 200GB microSD card is the largest in existence and costs around #20,000-30,000. It doesn't take a scientist to figure out that a 512GB card on sale for under #5,000 is a fraud.
How do I check if my microSD card is fake?
SD Insight is a free Android app that can tell if your microSD card is fake or notThere's an easy way of checking if your microSD card is genuine or not. If you have an Android phone or tablet, go to the Play Store and download SD Insight (pictured on the right). It is a free app that lists details about the microSD card installed in your device. Real microSD cards will have data about them listed, including their manufacturer, model number, capacity and the manufacture date. Counterfeits, on the other hand, will have no manufacturer name stated.
But while SD Insight is a reliable piece of software, it might not be able to read the data from each and every card in existence. So to test your microSD card without relying on the app, just fill it with data. Copy a bunch of files onto your microSD card and fill it up as much as you can. Or record a test video using your phone with the microSD card set as storage location. Once your card is nearly or completely full, see if the data you just put on it is accessible. The best thing to do if you get an error is to forget about ever using that microSD card again.
